Take Back Zionism?!?

Taglit, a huge figure in the Jewish community launched  campaign called “Take Back Zionism.” Personally I didn’t know we lost it but sure...I have never sought to make this blog a political platform yet, I must comment on the scathing article written by +972 Magazine.  Writers at +972, you are just mean spirited. Yeah I said it, meanie!

I work in a coffee shop, glamourous I know, and we have a sign that reads “Support our Troops by donating a bag of coffee Beans.” Well people have taken this a sign that I want to discuss their opinion of the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Dude, I am a barista, call your senator…the only thing I remind them is that as an American it is beautiful thing we are entitled to our opinions. So to the Birthright people leading this campaign and to the people at +972 Magazine, it is wonderful as a Jewish community we can disagree..but we are first and foremost a community. But by calling Birthright alumni  ”not all that wise,” is uncalled for.

Zionism to me is like when the airlines lose your luggage and you end up without clean undies in a foreign country, if has happened to you, you know exactly what I am talking it about, and if hasn’t happened to you then pass some of that airline karma onto me. If you are lucky enough to get your suitcase back the airlines will usually ship it to the address on the luggage tag. For years our luggage had no where to go, no home address. But with the state of Israel, we have an address, be it perfect no, but home just the same. So if people want to call it propaganda, then go ahead. But as for me I  know that no matter how lost I get I will not be forced to wander around without clean undies, cause I have home address.

And if we don’t start being nicer to one another, someone is going to get a spanking..
